Our Story

Sabor a Mi Grill Tequila & Botanas is a Gourmet Mexican Food restaurant that was established in 2018 by Chef Elizabeth Hart who wanted to serve Mexican Food with the authentic flavor of different regions of Mexico.

Sabor a Mi, Grill is a well-appointed, nicely decorated restaurant where the customers enjoy Fine Mexican Cuisine in a comfortable setting, while romantic bolero music plays in the background.  

The food, the ambiance and the hospitality are outstanding.

When Elizabeth was young, she used to help at her mother’s Mexican restaurant in Mexico, where she learned the roots and diverse flavors of the Traditional Mexican Cuisine.

She has traveled extensively enjoying the culinary delicacies of Mexico in fondas, small town kitchens, corner stands and many other places in North, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, the Mediterranean and Africa.

Those experiences and her studies in The Cordon Bleu Culinary School plus years passed working in hotels, golf clubs, and many restaurants have given her the knowledge and the confidence to develop a menu based primarily in Mexican Cuisine prepared with ingredients and seasonings that have given Mexican Food international recognition.

The menu is based in authentic dishes from the heart of Mexico prepared with very old spices and herbs plus contemporary ingredients and the creativity of Chef Liz Hart.  The food shows the fusion of ancestral indigenous plates with modern cuisine plated in a manner to highlight the main ingredient.

Our Food

The Menu offers several choices from the Grill, Tequila and Botanas. 

It shows a wide array of Botanas (tapas ), small portions of food that allow you have a taste of the many flavors shown in the dinner menu. In Mexico traditionally you have Botanas with your first Margarita to prepare your palate for the main dish.

Sabor a mi Tequila Bar offers more than 60 types of Tequila that will satisfy the most demanding palates.  The bar has a wide variety of draft Mexican beer as well as local and imported brands. 

Different Spirits are presented as well as many types of Mexican cocktails to pair with your botana or your dinner. We also offer Valle de Guadalupe wines.

Sabor a Mi has been featured in several publications such as Westway’s AAA’s Magazine, David Allen’s Blog in the Inland Valley Newspaper, Inland Empire Magazine, Allan Borgen in his tv program, and Food Critic David Cohen. Sabor a Mi has been listed 20 Best Restaurants in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and Yelp’s Best 10 Restaurants of Rancho Cucamonga.

Restaurant Guru certified Sabor as 2019 Best Mexican and Google constantly gives Sabor 5 stars.

Our Name

Searching for a great name Chef Hart opted to call the restaurant Sabor a Mi  after  the title of a romantic bolero song by Eddie Gorme and Los Panchos. The translation of one verse is:

"A thousand years may pass, I don’t know if love exists in eternity, but there just as here, in your lips you’ll always have a taste of me."

Liz liked the play on words that mean our customers would carry the flavor of the food served at Sabor A Mi forever in their lips
